Continuing a Family Legacy
After founding Hanford Hotels, Donald Sodaro reconnected with his
Italian roots and lineage in the wine industry. Near the turn of the
19th Century, Sodaro’s grandfather Giuseppe Sodaro was a wine barrel
cooper in Sicily, making wine barrels by hand and serving wineries
throughout the region.
More than 100 years and three-generations later, Sodaro purchased a vineyard in Napa Valley and opened Sodaro Family’s Estate Vineyard and Winery in 1998. Today he continues a family legacy of passion and dedication to wine as a complement to life.
Bringing together some of the most experienced and trusted minds in
wine making and vineyard management, Donald Sodaro and his world-class
team have meticulously developed a vineyard of unparalleled diversity.
Together they have constructed a winery to suit the complexities of the
vineyard, resulting in wines that ultimately reflect the stunning
beauty and individuality of this estate.
In February 2009, its flagship wine, the Sodaro Estate Blend, won a Double-Gold at the prestigious San Francisco Chronicle Wine Tasting Competition, where his Felicity Cabernet Sauvignon was also awarded Best of Class.
